The weather app on my phone said it was 4 degrees outside with a windchill of -11. Brrrrr, that’s cold. So what to do on the coldest day of the year? Right, grab a camera and head out to see how New Yorkers cope with such extreme temperatures!
My last post highlighted random portraits of people walking by my corner; I decided to continue that theme but instead of shooting in the summer and concentrating on faces, I’d record how random strangers dressed to deal with the cold.
Bundled up and staying (mostly) warm. Frigid temperatures can’t stop New Yorkers from doing their thing. Shot using natural light bouncing off the building across the street. 85mm lens at f4, 1/200th sec, ISO 400.
